SKINWALKERS

Movie Review.

Hmmm….
Actually I’m kinda awkward of what should I write or what kind of movie review am I going to do. Honestly, I love movies especially the suspense and horror but then when it comes to make a review about the certain movie I’ve watched, I could say that I’m not good at it.

Have you heard the movie “SKINWALKERS”?

Well it’s about werewolves fighting and it was based on North American legends and folklore.
Skinwalkers are humans who have supernatural ability to turn into werewolves. Some Skinwalkers find this ability as a gift, while the others find it as a curse. These diametrically opposed camps are fighting over a 12-year-old boy. It is believed that when this particular boy reaches the age of 13, skinwalkers will cease to be and will become normal human beings once more.

In the story, the skinwalkers who want to be normal humans are led by the middle-age Jonas (Elias Koteas). His mission is to protect the boy at all cost since they do not want to be skinwalkers who prey on humans. Meanwhile, the skinwalkers who want to remain as werewolves are led by Vadek (Jason Behr), who happened to be Jonas’s brother. Vadek, together with his team will go to great lengths to kill the boy and continue to embrace the power of the beast.

They are all after the half-blood boy named Timothy (Matthew Knight). He lives a normal life with his uncle Jonas, unaware to the fact that he is Vadek’s son and that he holds the key to the future of all the skinwalkers.

When the moon is full, the skinwalkers become werewolves and hunt. Those who have moral issues lock themselves up until morning. But aside of killing, the movie shows that skinwalkers also have sex during full moon. You cannot help but suspect that the bit of information was just added lend legitimacy to Mr. Behr’s superfluous butt exposure halfway through the movie.

When it comes to acting, I think that the actors are not that good particularly by Jason Behr. He is plain, boring and bogus. As a werewolf, he should have a strong personality that will enchant the viewers, but he ends up flat.

I think the movie is not worth of your precious time although the three writers are great. It only focuses on the scenes which includes the lovemaking of Vadek’s and his stunning girlfriend Sonja (Natassia Malthe). Since Sonja has the curves, the movie capitalizes on her by constantly focusing on her cleavage. (I think a lot of male viewers enjoy the movie with the popcorn on their mouth.)
